A student’s test can be reset if needed by using the regenerate test ticket function. For example, if an accommodation was not applied to the student profile before the student started testing, that test may need to be regenerated so the student can test with the appropriate accommodation.
To regenerate test tickets, users require the "Test Ticket - Regenerate" permission. This permission is part of the State permission set and is granted to other users based on state-specific requirements. For more information, contact your test coordinator. If you are the test coordinator, reach out to your state educational agency for more information.
Regenerating a domain test will require the student to start over on that test. If the test ticket is regenerated for a Reading or Listening test, and the student has already completed Speaking and/or Writing, the student will be required to retake the Speaking and Writing tests, as the tiers for those tests are dependent on the student's performance on Reading and Listening.
Select Test Management from the WIDA AMS My Applications menu.
Confirm or enter your site criteria in the upper right corner. Click Save.
Confirm or select your Registration Window in the drop-down. Make sure to select the correct year.
From Registered Students, search for the student using the search bar.
Click the vertical ellipses in the Action column for the student test you wish to regenerate.
Click Regenerate Test Ticket.
You will receive a message confirming that you would like to regenerate the test ticket and that responses previously captured for that domain will be deleted.
Click Submit.
If a student cannot complete a domain test, the test can be ended so that the student can proceed to the remaining domain tests.
To end incomplete domain tests, users require the “Test Ticket - End Incomplete Test” permission. This permission is part of the State permission set and is granted to other users based on state-specific requirements. For more information, contact your test coordinator. If you are the test coordinator, reach out to your state educational agency for more information.
For WIDA ACCESS, the use of End Incomplete from a Not Started Status or an In Progress status during Test Practice will not result in a domain score.
For WIDA Screener, the use of End Incomplete from a Not Started Status for Listening and Reading will default to a score of a 1. The Writing and Speaking domains must be In Progress and the student have responded to at least one item before the domain can be ended incomplete, otherwise nothing will carry forward into Screener Scoring and not generate a report. If a student is not able to engage in Writing or Speaking due to a documented disability, the Test Administrator can type or record, "The student is unable to respond."
Select Test Management from the WIDA AMS My Applications menu.
Confirm or enter your site criteria in the upper right corner. Click Save.
Confirm or select your Registration Window in the drop-down. Make sure to select the correct year.
Click the vertical ellipses in the Action column for the student test you wish to end.
Click End Incomplete Test.
You will receive a message confirming that you would like to end the incomplete domain test for the student.
Select Submit.
Do Not Score Code
Based on your state policy, you may add Do Not Score codes to a student test within the registration. The Do Not Score code can be used to report special testing circumstances for the WIDA ACCESS administration only. Do Not Score codes are not applicable for the WIDA Screener Online test.
To apply Do Not Score codes, users need the "Registration - Edit Testing Codes" permission. This permission is part of the district permission set. If you are unable to complete this action, please refer to your District Test Coordinator. If you are the District Test Coordinator, reach out to your state educational agency for more information.
Select Test Management from the WIDA AMS My Applications menu.
Confirm or enter your site criteria in the upper right corner. Click Save.
Confirm or select your Registration Window in the drop-down. Make sure to select the correct year.
From Registered Students, search for the student using the search bar.
Click the vertical ellipses in the Action column for the student test to which you want to apply the Do Not Score code.
Click Do Not Score.
Then, select a reason for the Do Not Score Code. The possible reasons are:
ABS: Absent (ABS) indicates the student was absent for a domain of the test.
DEC: Declined (DEC) indicates a student refused to test. This is a required annual assessment; it is not optional.
SPD: Deferred Special Education/504 (SPD) indicates that an IEP or 504 team determined that the student should defer participation from one or more of the domains of this test.
INV: Invalidate (INV) indicates that even though a student may have completed some or all of the test items, the testing was not valid, and no score should be reported for that domain.
Click Save.
