Working with Testing Devices

You can move Testing Devices, remove Testing Devices, and sort and reload (refresh) the display. In addition, you can edit the COS ConfigurationA logical grouping of devices, usually consisting of one or more COS - SDs and Testing Devices. A COS Configuration has two primary functions: It allows you to logically group Testing Devices and COS - SDs and it allows you to easily specify the settings for all of the devices in the COS Configuration. by adding or deleting Testing Devices and you can view the log files for a Testing DeviceA device used for student testing that has the DRC INSIGHT software installed on it. A device can be configured to work with one or more COS - SDs and in one or more COS Configuration..

Select a COS Configuration from the COS DashboardProvides visual status information for all COS Configurations, COS - SDs, and Testing Devices plus links that can be used to manage each COS Configuration, including COS - SDs and Testing Devices. and select Testing Devices to view the list of Testing Devices that are currently part of the COS Configuration on the Testing Devices page.

The following table describes the fields and columns on the Testing Device page.

Field/Column Description
ID The unique alphanumeric Device ID that COS created for the Testing Device.
Name The Testing Device ’s computer name.
Version The DRC INSIGHT client version number.
User

The name of the user logged into the Testing Device. This field will be blank for iPads and will display Kiosk ModeWhen DRC INSIGHT runs on a supported device and operating system, it uses Kiosk Mode to “lock down” student access and prevent students from performing inappropriate testing activities, such as accessing the Internet. On an iPad device, Kiosk Mode is referred to as Single App Mode. for Chromebook devices.

Type

An icon representing the Testing Device type. The icons and their respective Testing Device type or operating system are shown below.

Internal IP The internal IP address of the Testing Device.
External IP The external IP address of the Testing Device.
Last Seen The date and time the Testing Device was last used for DRC INSIGHT testing.
Logs Displays a log of the Testing Device’s activity.
