Moving and Renaming Testing Devices

You can use the options on the COS Testing Devices page to refresh the data on the page, move Testing Devices between COS Configurations, and remove Testing Devices from COS Configurations.

You can move/remove Testing Devices to organize your Testing Devices for changing testing needs.

Note: When you remove a device from a COS ConfigurationA logical grouping of devices, usually consisting of one or more COS - SDs and Testing Devices. A COS Configuration has two primary functions: It allows you to logically group Testing Devices and COS - SDs and it allows you to easily specify the settings for all of the devices in the COS Configuration., the device exists but is no longer associated with the COS Configuration (you can copy and save the Device ID to add the device to another COS Configuration).

  1. Select Testing Devices for the correct COS Configuration. To move, remove, or reload Testing Devices, select the device(s) by clicking the checkmark next to each device and select the correct option (see below).

    Option Description
    Refresh Data

    Refreshes the display using the latest information about the current Testing Devices.

    Move

    Moves the selected Testing DeviceA device used for student testing that has the DRC INSIGHT software installed on it. A device can be configured to work with one or more COS - SDs and in one or more COS Configuration.(s) to a different COS Configuration. You are prompted to supply the Org Unit ID for the target COS Configuration.

    Remove

    Removes the selected Testing DeviceA device used for student testing that has the DRC INSIGHT software installed on it. A device can be configured to work with one or more COS - SDs and in one or more COS Configuration.(s) from the current COS Configuration. A dialog displays to confirm the removal. You also can remove a device by clicking the x in the right-most device field.

    Note: Remember to copy or save the device’s Device ID if you plan to add the device to another COS Configuration.

  2. If you attempt to move a device, the Move Devices from Org Unit ID xxxxxxxxxx dialog box displays. Enter the Testing Device ’s Org Unit ID in the Target Org Unit ID box and click Move to move the Testing Device (or click Close to cancel the move).

  3. If you attempt to remove a device, the Confirm Removal dialog box displays. Click Remove to remove the Testing Device from the COS Configuration or Cancel to cancel the removal.

  4. After you move or remove a device, click Refresh Data to refresh the display with the latest information to verify any changes that you made.
