Test sessions requiring the use of the Test Monitoring application can be configured to allow Test Monitors to pause, stop, and resume a participant’s test by using Actions Configurations.
Test Administrators TA can take Actions on a single participant’s test, or a group of participants. When a participant’s test has been paused or stopped they are not allowed to continue testing until the Test Administrator resumes their test from within the dashboard. Test Administrators are also able to provide a reason for pausing/stopping the test, and a message to be viewed by the participants in the DRC INSIGHT test engine.
In order to perform Actions on a participant’s test session, the following configurations need to be applied:
Pausing a test is intended to be a short-term action. The Test Administrator selects the participant(s) they wish to Pause, a Reason for pausing tests, and a Message that will be viewed by the participants in the DRC INSIGHT test engine.
When a Test Administrator pauses a test, the participant will be brought to the Test Administrator Pause screen in the DRC INSIGHT test engine. The participant is not automatically logged out. The participant can select Logout from the Test Administrator Pause page in order to logout.
Stopping a test is intended for a long-term action. The Test Administrator may or may not decide to allow the participant to Resume testing. The Test Administrator selects the participant(s) they wish to Stop, a Reason for pausing tests, and a Message that will be viewed by the participants in the DRC INSIGHT test engine.
When a Test Administrator stops a test, the participant will be brought to the Test Administrator Stop screen in the DRC INSIGHT test engine. The participant is not automatically logged out. The participant can select Logout from the Test Administrator Stop page in order to logout.
Resuming a paused or stopped test allows the tester to continue testing. The Test Administrator will select the participant(s) they wish to Resume who have been stopped or paused.
When a Test Administrator resumes a test, and the participant is still logged into the DRC INSIGHT test engine (either on the Test Administrator Pause or Stop page), the participant will be brought to the Test Administrator Resume screen where they can select to continue testing.
When a Test Administrator resumes a test, and the participant is not logged into the DRC INSIGHT test engine, the participant will follow their normal flow through the test the next time they log in and enter a valid code. If the test is configured to place participants in the Waiting Room, the participant will be placed back in the Waiting Room once the test is resumed.
The participant is prevented from continuing to test when they are in a “TA Paused” or “Stopped” status, and is only allowed to continue testing when the Test Administrator (TA) has Resumed their test from within the Test Monitoring Application.
The participant’s Action Status will persist after logging out of the DRC INSIGHT test engine, regardless of which monitoring session they log back into. This means if a Test Administrator pauses a participant's test under one Monitoring Code, and the participant registers to a different Monitoring Code, they will still be in a TA Paused status.
A Test Administrator can use the filter panel to find all participants in a “TA Paused” or “Stopped” status by using the Action Status filter.
