Specifying a Shared Content Location

This topic describes how to specify a shared test content location for your COS ConfigurationA logical grouping of devices, usually consisting of one or more COS - SDs and Testing Devices. A COS Configuration has two primary functions: It allows you to logically group Testing Devices and COS - SDs and it allows you to easily specify the settings for all of the devices in the COS Configuration. from the Content HostingA COS - SD function used to provide content to student Testing Devices. Content Hosting authenticates content requests, decrypts content, and aggregates items into forms. page.

  1. Select a COS Configuration from the COS DashboardProvides visual status information for all COS Configurations, COS - SDs, and Testing Devices plus links that can be used to manage each COS Configuration, including COS - SDs and Testing Devices. and click Content Hosting to display the Content Hosting page.

  2. Move the Do you have a shared content location? toggle.

  3. Using the Shared Content Service Device Manager drop-down menu, select the COS - SD that will store the shared test content.

  4. Click Update Configuration. Note: The Shared Content Path field displays the shared content path to your shared content location (i.e., the network share location). This field indicates the path to a shared network location that stores the test content. The field is grayed out, cannot be changed, and uses the path supplied from the COS Installation wizard.

The default Shared Content Path is C:\Program Files\CentralOffice\content_fs.
