Creating Round-Robin Pools of COS - SDs

This topic provides an overview to the processes of creating round-robin pools of COS - SDs, including prerequisite information and references to additional information sources.

Prerequisites

Before creating a round-robin pool of COS - SDs (the default COS setup for multiple COS - SDs in a COS ConfigurationA logical grouping of devices, usually consisting of one or more COS - SDs and Testing Devices. A COS Configuration has two primary functions: It allows you to logically group Testing Devices and COS - SDs and it allows you to easily specify the settings for all of the devices in the COS Configuration.), remember that if you plan to deploy COS - SDs to a round-robin pool using a deployment file, you must use the default installation path for the COS - SDs on the device’s local storage.

Process

To create a round-robin pool of COS - SDs, perform the following steps.

  1. Create a COS Configuration by manually installing and configuring the first COS - SD. Follow the instructions in the appropriate installation section of Volume II: Central Office Services (COS) of the DRC INSIGHT Technology User Guide for your Windows, Mac, or Linux COS - SD.

  2. Add additional COS - SDs to your COS Configuration, either manually (interactively) or by using a deployment file (non-interactively).
